Egyptian People's Assembly rejects attempts to impose new sanctions on Sudan.
The Arab Affairs Committee of the Egyptian People's Assembly has announced rejection to any tendency to impose new sanctions on Sudan due to the situations in Darfur. Meanwhile, Head of Sudan's Department at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sabir Mansour, stressed importance of the strategic relations linking Sudan and Egypt and asserted Egypt's peacekeeping role in Sudan as well as in defusing the tensions in the region. Ambassador Manour further explained that Egypt is so keen to achieve stability and development in Sudan.
