Arms and Man.....ipulators!
     China – Sudan

The well-oiled and well-orchestrated campaign against Sudan has now turned to blackmailing other countries; mainly China.  The claim has been made that the forthcoming Olympics in Beijing should be boycotted in order to force China to put pressure on Sudan over Darfur.  The campaign is not disinterested.  Underneath is the resentment that China has become a leading nation (despite restrictions, sanctions and past isolation!)

Opinion polls, including the latest published by the Guardian (21 Feb) shows that the British public has not been won over by the misleading campaign, 72% do not support the boycott.
Moreover, the visiting Chinese envoy on Sudan has stated that China sells Sudan only 8% of its arms.  The rest comes from somewhere else, where?
The famous WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction (Deception) debate is fresh in many memories.  The Global Arms Industry is doing very well.  The smuggling of arms to Sudan is fanning the flames of insurgency in Darfur by providing the rebels (never called terrorists) with weapons to match the regular army and prop up the docile regime in Chad.
What about private Military Contractors (i.e. mercenaries) who can’t wait to enter Sudan under any pretext?  They are not Chinese.  Who arms them?
The Global weapons industry is worth billions according to the British CAAT (Campaign Against Arms Trade) and the Military Industrial Complex is a controlling force in many countries.  To suggest that the Chinese sales to Sudan are a major issue is a blatant exaggeration by media manipulators.
What more is required of Sudan? It has signed the Abuja Peace Agreement in 06, while some of the rebels refused, declared a ceasefire, went to talks in Sirte last October (when the rebels decided to stay away!) When the rebels overran an area in west Darfur there was no outcry from the International Community.  When the Sudanese army regained control of the Jebel Moun area on 9 Feb 08 the media manipulators went into top gear over “army attacks!”
