Sudan and Turkey sign cooperation protocol
A protocol on joint cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was signed at the premises of the Ministry of Science and Technology in the presence of the Minister of Science and Technology, Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Omer, the State Minister, Dr. Eissa Bushra, and the Ambassador of Turkey in Khartoum.
Director General of Animal Resources Research Corporation Prof. Musa Tebin signed on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Technology, while the assistant director general for prevention and control department signed for the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture. The protocol, which comes in the context of reactivation of the cooperation agreement signed between the two countries in the field of agriculture and animal resources, stipulates exchange of experiences in the fields of fishery, wildlife, animal production, production of vaccines and training. Addressing the signing ceremony, Prof. Omer appreciated the level of relations between Sudan and Turkey, lauding the scientific and technological progress being witnessed by Turkey. He pointed out that Sudan with its vast resources is capable of effectively contributing to facing the food shortage problem threatening the world. The Turkish Ambassador, on his part, expressed his country's readiness to boost joint cooperation in all fields, pointing out that the signed protocol is a big step in implementation of the cooperation agreement concluded between the two countries in the fields of the agricultural and animal production. Director of Animal Resources Research Corporation affirmed in his address the success of the visit of the Turkish delegation, which comprised directors of the major veterinary laboratories in Turkey. Chairman of the Turkish delegation, on his part, said that their visit to Sudan enabled them to identify the fields of cooperation between the two countries in the domains of animal health and production.
