Ki-moon arrives in Al- Fashir and affirms keenness on political solution for Darfur Issue .
Ki-moon headed to the headquarters of the African Union Mission in Al-Fashir where he held a meeting with the commander of the mission in the presence of the state wali. In statement to SUNA at the end of the meeting, the UN Spokesperson, Radhia Ashore said that the visit of the Secretary General to Sudan came at invitation extended to him by the Government of Sudan, pointing out that Ki-moon discussed with the First Vice President, Salva Kiir Mayardit, in Juba Tuesday the role of SPLM in supporting the peace process in Darfur. Ashore affirmed keenness of the Secretary General on the importance of providing the necessary support for solving Darfur issue through the political work, pointing out that the meeting between President Al- Bashir and Ki-moon on Thursday will discuss this matter and will also tackle the hybrid operation and means of its success. She said the UN Secretary General would assure during the meeting importance of continuation of humanitarian support to help success of the operation in its humanitarian and political aspects in order to shift to the stage of development.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki- moon arrived Wednesday in Al- Fashir town, capital of North Darfur State, coming from Juba. Wali (Governor) of the state, Osman Mohamed Yousuf Kibir, a number of his government members, leaderships of the native administration and the organizations of civil society as well as the citizens of the state received the UN Secretary General. Following the receiving ceremony,
