Darfur in the Labour Party Conference
The anti-Sudanese campaigners have tried to manipulate the Labour Party Conference in order to further demonise Sudan over Darfur .  They have tried to get permission to screen an advertisement which must have cost a lot of money – not sent to the displaced but used in political spin! The advertisement was about Mr. Sadig Adam Osman.
Here are the facts:-

Mr. Osman was interviewed by Embassy officials who confirmed to the Home Office that he was indeed Sudanese and that he was neither wanted nor hunted by Sudanese police.  He was given emergency Sudanese travel documents and returned to Sudan .  Tens like him have returned and continued to live in their homeland.

The Embassy has no idea how and why he left Sudan again.  No returnees are harassed or tortured!

It is worth mentioning that many asylum seekers claim that they are from Darfur even if they are not Sudanese.

The Embassy cooperates with the Home Office, despite the fact that staff members face hostility, intimidation and physical violence sometimes; and will continue to cooperate in the face of a well-orchestrated smear campaign which tries to manipulate even Party Conferences.
