President of the Republic, field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir has affirmed the government’s commitment to complete the peace process in Darfur and cooperate with the African Union (AU) and the United Nations for the implementation of the hybrid operation.
This came when the President received at the Guest House Monday the visiting delegation of the international Elders group, led by Archbishop Desmond tutu. President Al-Bashir reviewed the positive developments Darfur witnesses in the security and humanitarian fields and the efforts being exerted for the success of the coming negotiations in Tripoli with the movements that did not sign Abuja Agreement. President Al-Bashir also tackled during the meeting the progress of the implementation of the comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and the obstacles affecting it that are related to non-fulfillment of the donors to the pledges they made in Oslo.
